Astilbe makes a huge impact in the landscape with striking blossoms that will brighten any shady spot!
Includes One bareroot each of 'Rheinland', 'Red Fanal', 'White Gloria' astilbe.
Graceful, feathery flowers emerge in diamond-shaped panicles and sway gracefully in the summertime breeze. These delicate plumes are dense and fuzzy with an intriguing texture that catches the eye from any distance. The show doesn't end when the flowers fade – the long-lasting panicles dry in place and hold tight for textural interest that extends into fall. 'Rheinland' has clear pink flowers on upright, reddish stems with foliage that often appears with reddish tones. 'Red Fanal' has deep red flowers on bronze foliage, and 'White Gloria' boasts snow white flowers atop shiny, deep green foliage.
Pollinator friendly blossoms attract butterflies. Both 'Fanal' and 'Rheinland' won the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993. Astilbe are equally at home in formal gardens and gardens with a laid-back style. Flowers are great for cutting to dry or add to fresh arrangements.
Gorgeous, fern-like foliage is stunning even before blooming begins! The intricately textured foliage forms dense mounds while blossoms rise up on stiff stems that remain upright without the need for staking. Great for rock gardens, shady borders or edging by a walkway and can be grown in the sun in areas with cool, moist summers.
Astilbe is made for the shade! One of the few flowering plants to thrive in full to partial shade, astilbe adds whimsical charm to woodland gardens and containers sited on a shady patio. Its beautiful summertime blooms lend a pop of color to the garden where it needs it the most.
This low maintenance plant is great for green thumbs in training! It is deer and rabbit resistant, needs little upkeep and is virtually pest and disease free. Tolerates heavy shade but flowers best in partial sun and is best in morning sun, with afternoon shade.
Can be grown throughout most of the continental U.S. An excellent value and investment in any landscape. **This product cannot ship to the following states and territories AK, HI, PR, VI, GUAM.
